"I will stand  for Godly values and Godly leadership in government.  We as citizens have let government take prayer out of our schools, take the Ten Commandments out of our capitols, and they continue to tell us as Christians to be quiet about our fundamental beliefs.  Our  Christian values are the very things that have made our state and nation so great. We as rural Oklahomans greatly influence the standards of our nation because we are part of the Bible Belt.  We must engage ourselves in the political process and support a leader that is willing to stand for these values regardless of party pressures."

ELECTION RESULTS  -  October 13, 2009

Peck - 2,388

     Thank you.

"Western Oklahoma has been good to me and my family and I would like to give something back.  Given the opportunity, I will go to the State Capitol and work hard for the things we need in Western Oklahoma.  As your State Representative, I will work to diversify and promote our agricultural base, strengthen our schools, create more jobs, provide better access to health care, and protect our rural hospital.  I will fight to uphold our traditional conservative values which have served our great state so well."

Todd Russ, a fourth generation resident of Western Oklahoma, grew up near Rocky and graduated from Sentinel High School where he was active in Future Farmers of America, receiving the State Farmer Degree his senior year.  He went on to attend college at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, obtaining a degree in Finance.  Todd later received additional degrees from the Colorado Graduate School of Banking and a degree in Ministry from the Berean University School of the Bible.

Todd owned and operated a commercial nursery  business in Cordell for 14 years while completing his college degree and working at Washita State Bank.  He knows the successes and frustrations of running a small business.  Todd will be a strong voice for all working Oklahomans by pushing for tax reforms that include reducing taxes on small businesses as well as eliminating estate taxes.

Todd began a career in banking as a proof operator at the State Bank of Rocky in 1983.  He was later employed as vice-president at Washita State Bank in Burns Flat.  Todd went on to serve as vice-president, and executive vice-president at banks in Chickasha and Oklahoma City.

In 2002, Todd had the opportunity to purchase the Washita State Bank and return home to live and raise his family.

Todd and Khristy have been married for 25 years and live in Cordell with their three children, son Ryan, 19 and daughters Lacey, 16, and Lauren Paige, 13. Khristy is a 20-year veteran school teacher, where she taught 4 years at Western Technology Center at Sayre. She also taught at Cordell Public Schools for 12 years and Canadian Valley Technology Center for four years.
